A strange event is filmed by an ancient satellite left on the surface an abandoned planet. _______________________________ This short film is an experiment to see what I could do with very limited equipment, and very limited time. The learning curve was steep, but I had a lot of fun, and I like the result. I might develop the storyline further and make a better, longer version, someday. Time: One day and one night. Equipment: •old pentium with only 3 x 512 megs of RAM. •Logitech pro9000 webcam •600 watt halogen worklight (the sun) •72 watt halogen lightbulb in a desk lamp (to enliven the shadows). •Mini Maglite (the mysterious light) •Extension cord •Power bar with surge protection and switch (to activate the lights on queue) Puppet, Props and Sets: •Protoype Bag Puppet, inspired by Garin Trousseboeuf, a French company that originated this type of puppet. •Resin replica of a human skull, purchased at www.skullshoppe.com •Double sized Bed and bedding (the alien terrain!) •Various scraps of synthetic fur (the alien vegetation!) •Black curtain and white-headed sewing pins (starry sky) Software: Virtualdub (to capture webcam footage and ahve a large enough preview screen) Windows Movie Maker (to test my patience or drive me insane, or edit the movie because that was all I had) Audacity (for sound reccording and mixing) Photoshop (for the end credit image)
